But as with anything in life, there are things we can do to significantly slow down the degredation of our bodies. One of those miracle "cures" is to eat a more complete and dense diet. As we get older our bodies have a harder and harder time extracting all the beneficial nutrients from the foods we take in. It's the law of diminishing returns. If we continue to eat the same foods, our bodies obtain less and less nutritional value from those foods, eventually becoming completely worthless. We begin to lose or gain things on or in our bodies, we had or didn't have when younger. Then you read about some miracle product and go to a health food store where you buy some product your neighbor or in-law swore worked wonders. It's the inevitable cycle.
I try to educate people that roughly 70% of our complete immune system is involved in our gastrointenstinal tract. It is of vital importance that you are kind to your gut, because how you treat your digestive tract will, in fact, normally dictate how susceptible you would be to not only your vitality, but inflammation as well. You know, osteoporosis, arthritis, joint pains, low energy, weight gain.... I could go on and on. Based on conversations I have with clients, most are completely unaware that inflammation and the body's inability to fight it is the precursor to virtually every disease known to man.
So what can you do? Take care of your digestive tract. There are many ways to accomplish this, but initially, the best medicine is knowing how important it is if your goal is to life a long and prosperous life.
